Reasons for war. Weapons of mass destruction (WMD) were not found. Who is accountable for this needless war? The 911 commission established that there were no WMD and no association with Al Quada. Not finding WMD confirms that this war was a diversion for something else. Listed below are the real reasons perceived for going to war:
Oil. Yes, as one lobbyist saying to another lobbyist, as viewed on a spy camera,” If it was not for the oil, we would not be at war with Iraq.” Iraq has more known future oil reserves than any other country. Now is oil a sufficient reason for going to war? If not, who is accountable for such a war? George Bush? Not likely, with a Republican congress, he does not have to be accountable for anything.
Greed. Yes, how greedy we are. Look at sweetheart deals with Enron and Halliburton. Look at the kickbacks and bribes that this company gave to George Bush campaign to get reelected. Is not this a conflict of interest? Not while this company and other companies are donating to the parties campaign both for President or Congress. Oh hum, how awful. Watch them look the other way. Are any of our leaders accountable? You have to be kidding. They have the power it appears as if they can do just about anything they please and get away with it.
Re-election. I do not believe there could be more of a sleazy reason for going to war than to get the President reelected. You can term this as individuals who will do about anything to stay in power. For sure it is easier in a war for a President to get re-elected. Attacking a country so that a President can get reelected is simply disgraceful. If this happened, who is responsible?
Balance of power. Political science teaches you that when the war powers of different countries are not balanced, there will be war. After the Gulf war, Iraq had no means of protection. We had decimated their forces. They had no WMD and it would have taken up to a decade for them to ever get WMD. Korea however was a different story. Now President Clinton had a deal with Korea to keep them from making WMD. However, Bush decided to not abide with any agreement made by Clinton. Therefore, Korea started making WMD and rockets to del

Yes, our leaders lack forsight.
Chess players have been known to predict what the opponent will do 10 to 20 moves ahead. Evidently our leaders are not good chess players. They did not have the foresight to realize that if they depose of a leader like Saddam that was and is popular in some circles these people would be patriots and fight them to the end. They did not have the foresight to realize that if they lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that when none were found there word in the future would not be credible. They did not to realize that if they did not abide with the Geneva convention rules it would lead to sexual abuse in our own prisons which in turn would lead to be headings of innocent civilians and military by the other side. When you want to play the game of cruelty, the other side has the upper hand. They did not anticipate that invading other countries such as Iraq would promote recruitment of the other side and be regarded as a religious war. After invading Iraq they did not have a plan for exit. They did not realize that fabricating a forged document such as he NIGER document, which stated that Saddam was attempting to buy Uranium from Niger, would cause them to loose credibility in the World arena. Now they are confirming someone else who is a yes man and who cannot see or anticipate any further than the hand in front of his face. They did not expect that revealing a CIA agent could and should lead to Impeachment. Perhaps they got away with that. Do they realize that if they get away with this that means any President in the future can commit such egregious behavior? Does the public realize that since this country was led into war primarily to get Bush reelected that any president can lie and do more of the same in the future?
Yes, our leaders are not good chess players. Oh-hum more of the same lack of foresight. The same types of appointments of individuals who are yes men and lack foresight and vision.
Did you expect anything else from this group of cronies?
