Free trade? Economy, free trade, fair trade, what is the solution? The so-called free trade has ruptured our economy so much that we are exporting our wealth on a very large scale. Our trade deficit is soaring and Government deficit is minus so much that everyone in the USA is in debt over $30,000. Fair trade is not a solution. What we need is a better idea and someone with the guts to do something about it.
Balanced trade. The solution is balanced trade. Legislation needs to be introduced that encourages balanced trade and improves our Government deficit. But, how do we do that?
Legislation. The legislation should require our trading partners buy as much from us as we do from them to retain free trade status. However when our foreign trade partner sells us more goods to us than what we buy from them, then impose tariffs on a gradual basis only on the goods that are oversold to us.
Benefits. This will:
· Inflate price of foreign imported goods thereby making goods made in America merchandise more appealing and increase our factory production.
· Increase our tax revenue from outside foreign sources, which will reduce our Government deficit.
· Encourage our trade partners to buy more of our products so that more of their goods will be tariff free.
