Why did we invade Iraq?

Our President Bush has not presented the complete truth to the American People and to the world. The very first day our troops invaded Iraq I emailed Senator Lugar expressing that Iraq did not have weapons of mass destruction and that Iraq was not associated with Al Qaeda. This has been proven to be true by the 9/11 commission and other reports. I usually receive a reply from Senator Lugar, however on this email I received no reply. Now if the Senator would have paid attention to my email and if he could have influenced the others we would have saved 200 billion and over 1000 American lives and thousands Iraq lives. However since this was right after the 9/11 disaster and our President was dictator for the day. He could do whatever he wanted; even invade a country like Iraq that had nothing to do with 9/11. It would have been regarded as unpatriotic for anyone including any Congressmen to object to this invasion. It would even be unpatriotic to not vote for a war President. This type of atmosphere was like that of Germany prior to World War II. Let me refer you to
Herman Georing in the Nuremberg trial who stated the following.
“Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.—hermann georing @ Nuremberg

I plan to in my future postings describe 1) how we solve the Iraq problem, 2) keep our jobs in the US, 3) balances the US budget in four years, 4) solve the US health drug situation, 5) reduce or eliminate terrorism. I will be interested in positive feed back and especially positive solutions.

Lets face it folks, we are not even going to come close to solve these problems with the present President. Senator Kerry has shown that he is a better choice for President however he admits he has no solution for shipping our wealth and know how out of the country.

Future postings will suggest positive changes for the US. I am hopeful that the ideas in this blog will be useful and that our leaders will at least review them and perhaps adopt them.
